Privacy Policy
How Lustra handles your data.
Overview
Lustra is built with privacy as a core principle. The app does not require an account or cloud storage for your photos. Photo capture and image processing stay on your device. We do not sell your personal data. To keep the app reliable, Lustra uses Google Firebase for anonymized analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring as described below.
Data We Do Not Collect
Lustra does not collect:
- Photos or image data
- Location or GPS information (except optional geotags stored only in your photo files)
- Personal information such as name, email, or contacts
- Advertising identifiers for ad targeting
On-Device Processing
All photo capture, image processing, depth mapping, and bokeh rendering happen entirely on your device. No images or photo metadata are transmitted to any server. Your photos are saved directly to your device's photo library and remain under your control.
Camera & Location Permissions
Lustra requests the following system permissions:
- Camera — Required for the app to function. Camera data is processed on-device only and never leaves your phone.
- Photo Library — Used to save captured photos to your library. Lustra does not read or access existing photos.
- Location (optional) — If you enable Geotagging in Settings, your coordinates are embedded in photo EXIF metadata. This data is stored locally in your photo file and is never sent to us.
- Motion (optional) — Used for the horizon indicator viewfinder aid. Motion data is processed in real time and not stored or transmitted.
Third-Party Services
Lustra uses Google Firebase to understand app health and improve stability. These services may collect limited technical and usage data and transmit it to Google on our behalf. They do not receive your photos or personal account information. Specifically:
- Firebase Analytics — Collects anonymized app usage information such as feature interactions, screen views, session duration, app version, device model, and operating system version. This helps us understand how Lustra is used.
- Firebase Crashlytics — Collects crash reports including stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, and related diagnostic context when the app fails. This helps us find and fix bugs.
- Firebase Performance — Collects performance metrics such as app start time, screen rendering, and network timing related to Firebase itself. This helps us keep the app responsive.
Lustra does not use advertising or third-party tracking SDKs for marketing. For more detail on how Google processes this data, see Firebase's privacy documentation.
Data Storage
App preferences (such as your selected mode, format, and control settings) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS mechanisms. Preference data is not accessible to us and is removed if you delete the app. Diagnostic and analytics data handled by Firebase is processed according to Google's Firebase terms and privacy practices.
Children's Privacy
Lustra does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require an account and has no social features. Firebase diagnostics described above may still apply in the same limited technical form for all users.
